Burgundy 2015 En Primeur
The 2015 Burgundy Vintage
The weather was near perfect for the 2015 vintage in Burgundy. With no frost damage and minimal hail, the growing season for Burgundian growers was fairly untroubled. An early start to the flowering and a hot summer resulted in the grapes ripening perfectly after with some timely rainfall in August. The harvest took place in ideal conditions in the first half of September. Altogether an exceptional growing season. The Whites are very good indeed - much better than we initially thought. Overall they are ripe with wonderful flavours and good balancing acidity. The Reds are exceptional combining the best of 2005 and 2010 with comparisons being made with the legendary 1929 vintage - they are fabulous wines and we should all buy as much as we can afford.
