Where the Vineyards of Chassagne meet Montrachet is often described as the treasure at the end of the fine white Burgundian rainbow. This is very fine white Burgundy, as you would expect from this appellation of a mere 350 hectares. 2009 was one of the great Burgundy vintages, from which it is extraordinary to find a Chassagne Montrachet for under £30.

Tasting notes

Yellow honey lemon colour. On the nose this is fresh complex and anticipatory as to what comes next – a rich, full mouthful of an array of flavours that lasts and lasts. This is classic fine white burgundy that will continue to improve for another 5 years
