These three wines from the heart of the Médoc perfectly embody our philosophy: to provide excellent drinking wines at very affordable prices not met elsewhere. All three come from top Cru Classé Bordeaux estates. They are however ‘declassified’ (see explanation at right) and as such offer extraordinary value for money.

About Declassified wines
These wines are the excess production from these châteaux—the wines are exclusively from the château vineyards. They are made and aged in exactly the same was as the Grand Vin but do not fit the winemakers exact formula as what the composition of the Grand Vin should be. They are not 2nd wines, which are normally made from the younger vines, but a blend of both the 1st and 2nd wines.
"The wines will have been sold on the understanding that a big thing isn't made of it...My advice is to seek them out by keeping your eyes peeled and your ears skinned. Oh, and keep a guide to Bordeaux handy, so that when FromVineyardsDirect tells you that their 2006 Pauillac"...is from arguably the top Second Growth, whose vineyards border Pauillac's most famous First Growth", you'll know which it is."— Jonathan Ray, Daily Telegraph
