Gigondas
2007
NEWRobert Parker described the 2007 vintage in the Southern Rhone as ‘a truly historic and profoundly great vintage...may be the most compelling vintage of any viticultural region I have ever tasted’. This stunning wine comes from a small family vineyard just below the summit of Gigondas. It has been consistently highly rated by Le Guide Hachette, Decanter and by many other wine critics but in 2007 it is truly superb. Gigondas at its very best.

The Press
Award Winner ★★★★★. 'Pure, bold, sweet spice and dense cherry nose. Complex black olive, lavender and spice palate, tannins a touch coarse, but good power and great complexity.'—Decanter Magazine
'at an informal tasting this was the wine that everyone made their favourite. A Châteauneuf-du-Pape as good as this would cost you quite a bit more.'
—Simon Hoggart, The Spectator
Our tasting notes
A very dark, awesome colour almost of stewed prunes with a soft plummy fruit driven nose. Rich chewy wine that fills the mouth and has a long lingering finish. A very high quality Rhône wine that is ideal with all game and red meats.Wine data

About Gigondas
Highly reputed for its wines from Roman times, the best wines are remarkably similar to good Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and like them, made from the Grenache grape with Syrah and Mourvèdre grapes making up to 15%. Full-bodied, peppery Rhône wine.
