NEWA remarkable Syrah blend from the owners of Chateau Pichon Baron and Suduiraut. As with these other two estates the wines of Mas Belles are made with the greatest care and attention by some of France’s most renowned winemakers—if this wine came from almost any other area in France, and especially the neighbouring Rhône, it would cost three times the price. Renowned wine critic Robert Parker gave the wine 91 points, describing it as ‘outstanding value’. We agree, this is one of the best wines we have tasted from the South of France. Delicious.

‘[91 Points] Peat, blond tobacco, rosemary, kirsch, plum paste and black raspberry preserves on the nose of Mas Belles Eaux's 2008 Languedoc Les Coteaux presage a comparable complexity on a firm but juicy palate suffused with a mixture of salt, iodine, crushed stone, cherry pit, rosemary oil, and smoky black tea, all reflecting the sort of diversity and pronounced mineral nature of flavors from Caux soils. The resinous aspect of the finish here doesn't obscure the purity of berry fruit or keep the wine from delivering energy and genuine refreshment - on the contrary, it's part of the invigoration.
