Château la Commanderie de Mazeyres | Pomerol
2001
A parcel from Pomerol’s lost vineyard: A very special parcel of high quality, mature Pomerol from la Commanderie de Mazeyres, whose vineyards have now been acquired and incorporated into the new Chateau Fayat in Pomerol. The wine is a perfect expression of what we all look for from Bordeaux's smallest, most exclusive and expensive appellation (vineyard land changes hands for £10m + an acre). It is also remarkable value—a major high street chain have a few cases in their fine wine department for at £444 a case.
Our tasting notes
Dark with luscious, rich, concentrated fruit. Intense soft flavours with perfect balance and a long full finish. Approaching peak maturity and should provide excellent drinking for at least another 10 years. Very Pomerol–a real treat. Drink 2011–2021.Wine data
