Our tasting notes

Lemon, straw colour with mellow aromas of honey. Smooth rich, round, full and fresh—well balanced wine with good acidity. Great white burgundy that is very affordable. This is a food wine—perfect with all shellfish or fish—or for that matter by itself.

About Montagny

Montagny lies in the Côte Chalonnaise, a narrow strip of land in Burgundy that is sandwiched between the Côte d'Or to the north and the Mâconnais to the south. It remains exclusively a white wine producer with just over 260ha of Chardonnay planted on clay-limestone soils, producing crisp, complex and minerally wines with a dry finish.

It is a great source of good value white Burgundy—away from the ambitious pricing of the Côte d'Or, a lot of the producers are turning out excellent Chardonnay for a fraction of the prices these wines might fetch further north.

Prices are all-inclusive for deliveries to UK mainland and Northern Ireland. Minimum total order is 1 case (12 bottles of 75cl equivalent) for mainland UK and 2 cases (24 bottles of 75cl equivalent) for Northern Ireland and Highlands. We also offer a collection service for our French wines from just outside Calais, France (minimum of 5 cases from the same producer and excluding mixed cases), at a per-bottle saving of £1.50 for wines and £2.00 for Champagne, and a per-case saving of £18 for wine, £24 per 12-case/£12 per 6-case for Champagne.
