1 bottle Jean-Francois Protheau Rully Premier Cru ‘Les Grésigny’ 2008
From a tiny vineyard, this Premier Cru Rully is soft, luscious and full of flavour. A lovely floral nose with hints of lime, lemon and peach. A real pleasure to drink.

1 bottle Château Cantemerle, Haut-Médoc 5eme Cru Classé 2008
Another Château that produces superb value Claret, especially in a vintage like 2008. Robert Parker says “this property deserves a higher ranking than its 1855 classification” and we’re inclined to agree. Very elegant, classic Claret that will improve considerably over the next 5-10 years.

1 bottle Pouilly Fuissé “Margolliets” White Burgundy 2009
Good Pouilly Fuissé is very good, indeed the finest of all Macon (not to be confused with the Loire's Pouilly Fumé) and this is a classic example of really well-made Burgundian Chardonnay at its very best. The New World cannot make Chardonnay like this—and it is exceptional value for money.

1 bottle Château Ducluzeau, Listrac-Médoc 2000
Fully mature Claret from the great 2000 vintage. Château Ducluzeau is owned and run by the Borie family and made by the Château Ducru Beaucaillou team. It is regarded as the best property in Listrac and this wine shows why. Exceptional value for drinking right now and over the next five years.

1 bottle Château Poujeaux, Moulis en Médoc 2008
One of the best value Clarets around and certainly the best from Moulis en Médoc. Château Poujeaux is now under the full control of the Cuvelier family which has earned a great reputation at St-Emilion’s Clos Fourtet. 2008 was, according to Robert Parker, “a vintage of at least excellent quality” and also saw producers reduce their prices. As such this Poujeaux is really excellent value.

1 bottle Château Laforge, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2007
A top St Emilion Grand Cru at a seriously reduced price. Jonathan Maltus has a masterful touch when it comes to the Merlot grape and this, along with his famous wine Le Dôme, is a fine example. Rich, fruit driven Claret that is just starting to drink well now but will improve with a few more years in the cellar.

1 bottle Domaine Bernard Fleuriet, Sancerre 2008
After several months of tasting dozens of Sancerres, we came across the Fleuriet family who run their vineyard as they should—with all their grapes being picked by hand and the wine made with great passion.

1 bottle Domaine Nouvelère, Crozes-Hermitage Philippe & Vincent Jaboulet 2007
This is almost certainly the finest Crozes-Hermitage made now—and from the stunning 2007 vintage—the best the Rhône has seen for several decades. Rose Murray Brown writes in the Scotsman: “The best Crozes I have ever tasted, resonant forest fruit/violet aromas, hint of pepper savoury flavours, juicy blackcurrants. Superb effort.”

1 bottle Les Mines, Priorat 2006
An exceptional find from the lost world of Priorat—Spain's finest and smallest wine growing region which until a few years ago was almost. Les Mines is a blend of Carignan and Grenache from 50-70 year old vines produced in tiny quantities—a few hundred cases each year—all matured in new French barrels. A real treat—and delicious.

1 bottle Aloxe-Corton “Beloix” Côte de Beaune 2008
This is wonderfully rich, ripe, very fine red Burgundy that is drinking well now and will continue to improve for another 5 years. The 2008 vintage is very good indeed. We would have taken 10 times this amount had it been made. A spectacular tiny parcel of great red Burgundy that would normally command a far higher price—exceptional value.”

1 bottle Moillard-Grivot, Meursault Clos des Tessons 2009
Top notch Meursault from one of the best communes within this most illustrious of Burgundian appellations. 2009 was a good vintage and this wine is a perfect example. It is already starting to drink well but it will improve over the next 3 or so years. Lovely rich, buttery and slightly nutty flavours. This is a very serious white wine and all you’d expect from this excellent appellation.

1 bottle Domaine de Saint Paul, Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2008
The 2008 of our favourite Châteauneuf-du-Pape, from the Jeune family's small estate, is a wonderfully concentrated, rich and spicy wine. It is forward and already drinking really well. A Châteauneuf of this quality at under £20 a bottle is very rare.
