The Spanish Tasting Case
A mixed case of our Spanish wines for you to try—all exceptional and highly recommended.
75cl Bottles, Case of 12: £120.00
2 bottles of El Bos, Toro 2008
An award-winning Tempranillo (the grape variety used in Rioja) from Toro, this is an excellent wine for this summer’s barbecues; deep dark red in colour, full-bodied and with a combination of clean, intense flavours. Notes of spice, blackberries and licorice on the nose and a lovely concentrated palate with lots of fruit and hints of vanilla, spice and chocolate. 2 bottles of Lacrimus Crianza, Rioja 2006
From the highly-rated wine maker, Javier Gonzales, this is a wonderfully made, modern Rioja. Aged for two years, with six months in French oak, this rich and complex wine is already drinking well and will last at least another five. Great value for a serious Rioja. 2 bottles of Les Mines, Priorat 2006
An exceptional find from the lost world of Priorat—Spain's finest and smallest wine growing region, which until a few years ago was almost inaccessible. A rich, concentrated blend of Carignan and Grenache. Serious Spanish wine. 2 bottles of Altos de Oliva Gran Reserva, Catalunya 2004
Our remarkable new Spanish discovery—fully mature and delicious red wine from the relatively unknown Terra Alta (The Highlands) of Catalonia, just South of Priorat. One of The Independents '10 Best Autumn Reds’ and recently awarded a gold medal in Brussels, this rich, fresh wine with red berry and mineral flavours will not disappoint. 2 bottles of Valsanzo Viña Sanzo, Rueda 2009
A lovely, crisp and floral Verdejo (Spain’s finest white grape variety) that is produced bio-dynamically from 40 years old vines in Rueda, Northern Spain. Robert Parker gave the 2007 vintage 90 points (extraordinary for a wine at this price) and we expect this vintage to do as well. A very distinctive and summery wine which, at this price, represents excellent value for money. 2 bottles of Altos de Oliva White, Catalunya 2009
A crisp, refreshing summer wine, which because of its relatively unknown origin high in the Catalan mountains is remarkable value. Light yellow lemon colour with rich floral flavours on the nose. A fullish bodied, dry wine that is very well made. This delicious, everyday white wine should be much more expensive.
