About bio-dynamics
In the middle ages, farmers relied on what is now known as bio-dynamics—planting by the seasons and phases of the moon (the pull of gravity, etc.) and using natural treatments to stimulate growth and repel insects and disease. Bio-dynamics came to the forefront again largely due to the Austrian scholar Rudolph Steiner in the first half of the 20th century as a reaction to intensive farming using synthetic chemicals, weed killers and insecticides. Bio-dynamic wine are made strictly by the laws of nature and tend to be more 'pure.'
