Saint-Julien | Bordeaux
2008
SPECIAL PARCELAfter the success of our previous declassified St-Julien 2008 we have found another, this time from the vineyards of Château Gruaud Larose, the original ‘Super Second Growth’. Located just to the west of Beychevelle, Gruaud Larose has a reputation for producing very concentrated wines that have great potential for aging. From the excellent 2008 vintage this is forward, ripe Claret of the highest quality.
Our tasting notes
Dark Crimson with tinges of ruby. A forward, fruit-driven nose- the precursor to a full favloured- round and well balanced claret. Exceptionally made as you would expect with this pedigree.Wine data

About Saint-Julien
As Jancis Robinson says “St Julien is the commune for wine connoisseurs who seek subtlety, balance and tradition in their red Bordeaux.” Situated on the left bank St Julien is the smallest of the 4 most famous Haut-Médoc appellations. Despite this it boasts five superb second growths (most famously Ducru Beaucaillou, Léoville-Las-Cases and Léoville Barton), two really excellent third growths and four very good fourth growths.
