Bodegas Los Infantes Orleans Burbon Manzanilla Torrebreva

NEW

A simply stunning Manzanilla from the Bodegas Borbon, owned by the Spanish Royal family, that has never been seen in the UK before. A delicious and bone-dry example of the type of Sherry produced in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (the only place where Manzanilla can be produced), and shows how good top class, dry sherry can be. It is in ½ bottles as high quality dry sherry only maintains its true freshness for 2-3 days and in fact is best drunk within a few hours of being opened, slightly chilled. Delicious on its own, as an aperitif or with tapas.

The Press
‘I loved the bready zest their current Orleans Borbon, Terrebreva NV Manzanilla... Extremely pale. Strongly bready/yeasty flor nose—very fresh. Briney and nicely sculpted on the palate. Very juicy and appetising with pungent finish. What could be more moreish? Just the job for summer, or those whose appetites need a fillip.’ —Jancis Robinson MW

‘An exhilaratingly crisp, bright sherry from Sanlucar de Barrameda, made by a bodega with links to the Spanish Royal Family. It has the saline tang of a classic Manzanilla, and a zingy but refreshing quality that makes it ideal, served chilled, with nutty nibbles or grilled seafood.’ David Williams, The Observer - Wine of the Week
Our tasting notes
An extraodinary powerfull aroma of dry fruit and the sea. Delicate, slightly salty and incredibly fresh—the balance and acidity here are perfectly in harmony.

About Manzanilla
Manzanilla is a bone-dry style of Fino Sherry, which can only be produced around the port city of Sanlúcar de Barrameda in the province of Cadiz. Sanlúcar de Barrameda's position between the sea, the River Guadalquivir and the marshlands helps create a unique microclimate of cool temperatures and high humidity. These conditions allow a special growth of yeast, known as the 'flor', to grow on the surface of the maturing wine all year round thus protecting it from any oxidization. As a result the wines tend to be fresher than those sherries from nearby Jerez or El Puerto de Santa María.
