Hermitage, Domaine du Colombier 2013
Big, powerful Hermitage from a good vintage in the region. Deep, dark and powerful, with intense black fruits, and a rich, concentrated palate with a touch of liquorice and roasted coffee.
"The 2013 Hermitage comes from the Maison Blanche, Beaumes and Peleat lieux-dits. It was raised all in barrel (20% new) and has a classic feel to its medium to full-body, juicy acidity and firm tannin. Giving up lots of peppery herbs, crushed rock and assorted cassis and blackberry fruit, it has outstanding potential, but will require short-term cellaring." 90-92 points, The Wine Advocate
