2019 Crozes-Hermitage, Yann Chave (magnums)

A very fine and pure expression of syrah here from Yann Chave. Made from 25-year old vines, and without oak, this is perfumed and exuberant with warm, fresh cassis fruit and a touch of hallmark meatiness and smokiness. Has an appealing grip, but also ripeness, roundness and generosity. A hint of liquurice and black pepper with a luscious, crunchy finish.
