Outstanding. One of the greatest feelings is finding a new wine which you know will hit the sweet spot among customers, especially when it is a wine such as this where it is a more affordable and slightly better version comparatively with its pinot noir counterpart. Kevin Grant is one of South Africa's best winemakers - he is undoubtedly one of the world's exceptional talents and you need only try his wines to realise. He is a master at portraying the perfect symbiosis of the elegance and traditionalism of the old world, along with the fruit and power of the new world style. The combination is utterly sublime.

This particular cuvée is made up of 25% Pinot Noir, 25% Cinsault & 50% Pinotage and is stunning. The wine has scored 93 points and is deliciously juicy and elegant. If you are a fan of Burgundy or were lucky enough to taste the Pinot Noir, you must try this.

Our Tasting Notes

On the nose, there is immediate fresh flavours and gorgeous strawberry fruit. The pallet is soft with crispness and fresh acidity. The fruit is light with lots of bramble and redcurrant, and there is a long finish with a tinge of herbal influences. Perfect with game meat or winter stews.

About

Ataraxia wines is perfectly positioned on a commanding rise in the beautiful Hemel-en-Aarde wine-growing area. Just a short distance from the coastal village of Hermanus, a picture-perfect drive brings you to the most elevated part of these winelands. Here you can experience jaw-dropping vineyard, valley and mountain views. In addition to its unrelenting beauty, Ataraxia is home to some of the most spectacular terroirs South Africa has to offer. In 2004, the Skyfields Farm was visioned into the Ataraxia wine label when husband and wife, Kevin and Hanli Grant and a few friends purchased this 47-hectare prime vineyard property. More than a decade later, the brand is associated with crafting wines of incredible finesse, balance and depth; wines that proudly hold their own on the international wine stage.
