The Michel Juillot Estate lies in Mercurey, on Burgundy's famous Côte Chalonnaise, This family run domaine is a fourth generation property which cultivates 30ha of vines and specialises in Mercurey while also producing several Côte de Beaune Crus. Michel's grandfather (Laurent's great-grandfather) was even responsible for determining some of the boundaries of Mercurey.

Michel and his son, Laurent's wines have been referenced by a great number of Michelin starred restaurants and have also acheived many great accolades. The Estate’s production singularly demonstrates a philosophy of quality upheld by a family of wine makers who not only admire, but also respect their terroir. This Bourgogne rouge is of a very high standard indeed.

10,000 vines per hectare on composite soils with clay, hard limestone, gravel and pebbles, East South East exposure, at around 250 metres above sea level. Low yields and manual harvests with a sorting table in the vineyard. Full destemming followed by fermentation with natural yeasts at controlled temperature for 20 days. Matured for ten months in large oak foudres. Unfiltered.
