Château Angludet, Margaux 2018 IN BOND

75cl bottle: £26.00

Case of 6 75cl bottles: £156.00

"It's a brilliant wine, reminiscent of the excellent 2015 and possibly even better. It's one of my picks of the vintage in terms of its value to quality ratio, and you won't have to wait too long to drink it." 93 Points, Jane Anson, Decanter

This is consistently one of our most popular wines in our Bordeaux en primeur campaign each year, so it was a real shame for our customers last year when we were told by our friends, the Sichel family that Angludet had not produced a 2017 vintage due to frost damage.

We are overjoyed to say that the 2018 vintage is a different story - yes, after the early rainfall, there was a mildew attack at the end of June which meant that yields were down, but the hot summer which followed meant that the quality is there in abundance, 2018 is a very exciting Angludet. Drink 2024-2032.

Duty and VAT will be payable when the wine arrives in the UK, expected in late 2020.

Château Angludet is a Cru Bourgeois property that now regularly produces wines of grand cru classé quality. The château is located in the Margaux appellation at the 3-way intersection of the Cantenac, Arsac and Labarde communes. The late Peter Sichel purchased Angludet in 1961 and it became his home for the next 37 years. The vineyards and cuverie were in a deplorable condition when Sichel took over and it is due to his sheer will and determination that Angludet enjoys its high reputation today. Angludet's 32 hectares of vineyards are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (58%), Merlot (35%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Petit Verdot (2%). The grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks and the wine is then aged in oak barriques (25-33% new) for 12 months. The wine is bottled unfiltered.
