A very soft and quaffable claret for everyday drinking. The property owes its name to the Baron Christophe de Cayla. The last descendant of the family was Pierre de Cayla, an archaeologist, who died in 1831. The vineyard has been managed since 2005 by the Gonfrier brothers who have shown great care to allow the vines to show their full potential. The 20 hectares of the vineyard around the castle are well sited upon hills, ideally exposed for the sun. The whole vineyard is farmed as sustainable agriculture to respect the environment for the future.

“A multimedal-winning wine from Cadillac-Côtes de Bordeaux and yet another stellar vintage. Merlot-dominant, it’s playfully approachable, with oodles of succulent fresh fruit and a powerful finish. It’s an absolute peach at this price and well worth tucking away for a year or so more." Jonathan Ray, The Spectator
