"This is a powerful Cissac with a dense core of purple fruit and graphite, as well as chewy tannins. Full-bodied. Rich finish. One of the best wines from here in years." 92-93 James Suckling

"Best Cissac ever en primeur" 91 Markus Del Monego

"It has great fruit concentration, giving a solid wine with a fine future" 92 Wine Enthusiast

Chateau Cissac, a long time favourite affordable claret in the UK, sits on a plateau between St Estephe & Pauillac and in 2018 made a stunning wine. Probably the best wine they have ever made….and at a ridiculously modest price

About

Chateau Cissac is the family home of the Vialard family. This charming estate is situated close to St Estephe and Pauillac and is planted predominantly with Cabernet Sauvignon. Other Medoc varieties: Merlot and Petit Verdot are also planted and are incorporated in the final blend. Laurent Saint Pasteur, the winemaker is passionate and knowledgeable, striking just the right balance between tradition and modernity. The wines always have a Medocain character, but advances in wine-making have resulted in more refined tannins and greater purity of fruit; recent vintages possess a poise and sophistication that is very impressive. The wines have become a firm favourite for both private clients and restaurants.
