Château Saint-Nicolas, Fronsac 2010
"Château Saint-Nicolas 2010 is a wonderful example of a really good mature Fronsac from the great 2010 Bordeaux vintage that is fast disappearing from the market. I have for long regarded Fronsac as Bordeaux’s most undervalued appellation producing wonderful merlot-driven wines that are great value for money. Fronsac lies along the Dordogne, west of Saint-Émilion, sharing the same terroir. A lot of Bordeaux’s most famous winemakers have their own personal vineyards there." - Esme Johnstone
"Coming from Fronsac, the 2010 Ch. Saint-Nicolas is crammed with rich, ripe Merlot, seasoned with just a touch of Cab Franc. With plenty of spicy red and dark cherries and a long juicy, slightly savoury/earthy finish, its hugely enjoyable."
