A splendid Grenache-Syrah blend from high in the hills of Corbières, a stunning corner of south west France. Château Trillol was awarded France's highest accolade for food and wine in 2013, the Prix d'Excellence in its Concours Général Agricole. Awarded by the French Ministry of Agriculture for consistently high performance over several years, there are only seven Prix d'Excellence each year for seven categories out of a total of 20,000 entries. About

Corbières is the largest appellation in the Languedoc- Roussillon and an area that has been quietly making headway over the last twenty years with some of the vines at 80 years old. Under vine since Roman times you can now find exceptionally good wines here and often at surprisingly low prices. 95 % of production is red but there is a tiny amount of rosé and white to be found as well. High in the hills of the Corbières, in a stunning corner of south west France, Château Trillol has been the Sichel family property since 1990. At 400m above sea level, the vineyard is located in two of the Corbières terroirs: Termenès and Quéribus. Here the local grape varieties, Grenache, Syrah and Carignan (harvested by hand), result in an authentic wine that is packed with character and a strong sense of place.
