Domaine Maldant Pauvelot, Savigny-Les-Beaune 2015

75cl bottle: £20.95

Case of 12 75cl bottles: £251.40

Once again, Jean-Luc Maldant has produced a beautifully elegant red Burgundy, with the 2015 Savigny-Les-Beaune. It is total class with a staggeringly long finish, bursting with all sorts of red and black fruits. This is quite an experience and highly recommended.

Our Tasting Notes

A bouquet of ripe black fruits, blackcurrant and cherry with cinnamon and pepper, a little smoky. Powerful on the palate with roundness and balance.Supple tannins and fruits are well integrated.

Wine Data

Grape variety: Pinot Noir
Appellation: Savigny Lès Beaune
Alcohol: 13%

Between the hill of Corton and Beaune, the landscape opens up like a map unfolding. The hills of the Côte de Beaune recede a little on either side of the little river. These vineyards are of ancient lineage and for much of their history, they belonged to the Domaine of the Dukes of Bourgogne, to neighbouring religious houses, or to the Knights of Malta. An imposing 14th century castle testifies to the appellation’s aristocratic qualifications.
