Gavi di Gavi is the qualitative epicentre of the Gavi region and Nicola Bergaglio's sensational offering is by far the best of all those we tasted. This is a serious—and very good dry white wine and a fine example of why the style has been gathering followers so quickly.

Our Tasting Notes

All the classic flavours you would expect of a Gavi - pears, citrus fruit, apples - but with a balance and length unusual for a wine at this price. This is a finely crafted, fresh white which would make a fine match for all manner of white fish dishes.

About

Cortese based wines have been produced around the city of Gavi since the 17th Century. Today the area can be broadly divided into two quality categories—Gavi and the more distinguished Gavi di Gavi DOCG. The latter is obliged to meet stricter quality controls and comes from the vineyards closest to the town.
