Puligny-Montrachet 'Les Charmes', Domaine Alain Chavy 2017
Delivery in June
Please note this wine is sold on allocation. This wine will be dispatched early in June 2021.
We have secured a parcel of this great vintage from Domaine Alain Chavy of the well-situated Puligny-Montrachet Les Charmes. The wine is still lying in France and will be *shipped to order* for all orders received by midnight on Thursday.
2017 is a delightful vintage providing attractive, elegant white wines that are delicious now and which will age admirably. 2017 is definitely amongst the best vintages of recent years alongside the 2014. And Puligny is, alongside Meursault, at the top of the communes for white Burgundy.
The wine will be with us early June, and will make a perfect addition to your cellar and for the return to dining with good friends this summer.
Limited to 12 bottles per customer initially, though do email if you would be interested in more than 12 and we will do our utmost to accommodate requests.
"Fuller and more concentrated than their village Puligny, with clear differentiation in terms of density, weight and clarity of fruit. Vivid apple fruit through to the finish. Very good, though less esoteric than their village Puligny wine."
17+/20 - Jancis Robinson
"The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Les Charmes, which comes from 1.80-hectares of vine, matures in 25% new oak. It offers hints of white flower and brioche on the nose that gently unfolds in the glass. The palate certainly has more tension and a sense of energy compared to the Puligny Village, with good salinity and a light spiciness towards the finish. This is worth seeking out."
