Village Montagny, Vignerons de Buxy 2018
Favouring stainless steel fermentation to retain the fresh, zesty fruit character of their village wine, the style differs from the barrel fermented Premier Cru offerings, and is a cracking bottle of white Burgundy in its own right.
There's a lovely, light golden shimmer in the glass with vibrant aromas of citrus and stone-fruit. The palate follows suit with ripe exotic stone-fruit, citrus and an elegant, herbaceous, almost spicy edge and a good length to the finish.
There's a real freshness and zip to the palate, yet it still retains a texture and weight which I really particularly enjoyed.
It certainly is a really delicious glass of white Burgundy from this consistently excellent producer, and great value to boot.
