Our stunning new Pinot Noir from a small family estate close to Limoux in the the foothills of the Pyrénées. A light Pinot with a beautiful balance and superb retrained Pinot fruit flavours. It could almost be a Volnay except for the price. It is great value and perfect for summer drinking – highly recommended by us all.

About

Certain areas of Limoux offer a great potential for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with a combination of Mediterranean and oceanic climate tempered by altitude vineyards. Based 10 minutes west of the city on the foothills of the Pyrénées, we have sourced this delicious Pinot Noir from a family-owned estate. The best parcels of Pinot among the 20 hectares planted are pruned with the Guyot method, all destemmed and kept cold before starting fermentation. Then there's a short extraction in the cellar to keep the delicacy of the fruit and softness of tannins. The wine is 100% tank fermented and aged.

"A Pinot from the Languedoc, this has certainly retained freshness and edge in the heat of the south, with only 12.5% alcohol and a crisp, herb and red fruit nose. It's a Pinot in an authentically light- to medium-bodied style, fragrant and staying crisp and refreshing. The antithesis of 'blockbuster', but lovely of it's style." - Tom Cannavan, wine-pages.com
