case(s)

Domaine Cordier wines are often compared with the greatest Côte d'Or Grand Crus. Cuvée 'Les Ménétrières' is a particularly special cuvée which has recently been granted Grand Cru status. The opportunity to get hold of first-rate Pouilly-Fuissé before the price rockets such as this does not come around often. 'Les Ménétrières' is a tiny plot just north of Fuissé and the grapes are harvested from 80 year old vines. Production is miniscule, we have an allocation of just 120 bottles and if you are a fan of quality white Burgundy, this is not one to miss.

"Widely recognised as one of the best sites in Pouilly-Fuissé - and soon to be promoted to premier cru status, this comes from a 0.4ha plot and is fermented in new 500-litre barrels. It's toasty and rich, with layers of flavour joined by sweet spices, some honeyed concentration and plenty of supporting acidity, ending with a chalky bite.  Drinking window 2019 - 2024" 94 points, Tim Atkin MW

Our Tasting Notes

An exceptional wine which immediately shows complexity on the nose with a distinct steeliness supported by flinty notes. While the exotic fruit is currently being slightly dominated by the rich toasty oak imparted by the fermentation in large barrels of 500 litres, the underlying notes of sweet spices gives the nose real class and elegance. The palate displays an attractive plumpness and somehow buxom fruit, however it is balanced by a zesty and lemony finish that lends it its nobility letters. Aristocratic, this wine is clearly built to last with at least 10 years of ageing potential. Very limited quantities.
