Château Berliquet, St.Emilion Grand Cru 2002

We have just secured an additional parcel of Château Berliquet 2002 from Saint-Émilion. This is a very fine claret at its peak right now and everything you expect from a mature Saint-Émilion Grand Cru.

Château Berliquet lies on the upper southern slopes of Saint-Émilion next to Château Canon, this famous appellation's new superstar. Château Berliquet was bought by Chanel who also own Canon in 2017 so expect the price to skyrocket!

"Berliquet is a unique terroir, the [24 acres] are in one single block on the best exposition, west/southwest and 100 percent on the limestone plateau. It's 100 percent in line with our style and the type of terroir we know and love very much. Chanel

The wines come in wooden cases of 6 bottles. It is a remarkable bargain. We should all have a case.

This wine is in our warehouse and ready for dispatch.

Berliquet is one of the oldest vineyards in Saint-Émilion. The vines, exposed south, southwest, are neighbours to several first growths. It can trace its history back to 1794 and was promoted to a Grand Cru Classé in 1985. It consists of 9 hectares of vineyards superbly sited on the Saint-Émilion limestone plateau, between Château Canon and Château Belair-Monange. Nicolas Audebert from Chanel described Berliquet as a ‘jewel’ in the heart of Saint-Émilion.
