Clayvin Vineyard Grand Vin Pinot Noir 2012
We offered a mislabelled Clayvin Vineyards Pinot Noir 2013 last month that sold very well, so a few of you will already know just how good this vineyard is.
We have now just taken delivery of 30 cases of the beautifully mature Clayvin Vineyard Grand Vin Pinot Noir 2012. For helping them out with the mislabelled stock, they have reduced the price enabling us to sell it at £27.95 a bottle rather than its correct price of £32 a bottle (and over £50 in New Zealand & Australia).
One of the best New Zealand pinot noirs on the market and my pinot noir bargain of the year and my wine for Christmas lunch this year.
Tasting note: Reaching peak maturity and pinot perfection with restrained complexity and elegance. Could be mistaken for a good Chambolle-Musigny. Bright rich fruit. All is in balance and with a scrummy finish. This is the benchmark against which other NZ Pinots should be judged. Drink now - 2025
