Clos des Lunes 'La Petite Lune' Rouge, Bordeaux 2015

"The Clos des Lunes winery is owned by famous Bordeaux estate Domaine de Chevalier, and built its reputation on its fine dry white wines. But recently the winemaking team have used their multi-award winning skills to produce a new, limited release, red wine 'La Petite Lune' and it's an absolute cracker.

I've long been a fan of the Château's white wine 'Lune d'Argent' and was fortunate enough to taste a sample of the 2015 vintage 'La Petite Lune' rouge recently and it was an absolute treat; I'm sure you'll love it too.

This merlot/cabernet franc blend offers concentrated aromas of red berry and black currant fruit, with a slight herbaceous edge. The palate follows suit with a core of ripe, rich, dark-berry fruit and a delicate leather and spice character with a complex, lengthy finish.

It's thoroughly enjoyable now with a good decant, but if (unlike me) you are disciplined enough to tuck this away, it will certainly evolve beautifully in bottle over the next 5+ years"
