Château Perron, Graves Rouge 2009
One can forget that Graves, the left bank region just to the south of the city of Bordeaux, with its gravelly soil (hence the name), is the oldest of all the wine growing regions of Bordeaux whose wines the British have been buying since the 1200s.
Château Perron 2009 is a new find we are very proud of - a lovely rich mature Graves, 35% merlot, 5% cabernet franc and 60% cabernet sauvignon. I recommend you open and decant a good hour before drinking and enjoy a wine reaching its peak from the magnificent 2009 vintage, thought by the late Steven Spurrier to be with 2010 the greatest since 1961 and 1945.
