Spain

Spanish Reds

With some 600 grape varieties, although most wines are made with just 20, tempranillo and garnacha dominate with red wine making in Spain. 90% of all Spanish vineyards lie at higher altitudes than any French wine region. The Spanish bodegas appealingly have traditionally released wines when they are ready to drink rather than to sell. In our view, some of the most exciting current wine making is to be found on the Iberian peninsula.
