Not quite in the same league as Garrus the estates and almost certainly the worlds best rose but a world class rose in its own right & a relative bargain at c1/3rd of the price.
Made using a method more normally associated with the production of a Grand cru white Burgundy. Only grapes from the oldest vines on the best lots of the Esclans estate are selected and optically sorted. 90% free run juice and no maceration gives the wine a beautiful translucent pink colour whilst an extra year of ageing before release & 10 month oak barrel fermentation results in an incredible combination of structure and complexity.
Aromas of sandalwood and red berry carry through to a generously textured palate and a long creamy finish with a hint of spice. Tannins give the wine a wonderful structure while allowing its beautifully balanced acidity to hold all the characteristics in perfect harmony. Highly recommended!
