Whispering Angel, Château D'Esclans Côtes de Provence 2020 (9L Salmanazar)
>The larger bottles are a statement of intent about this fabulous rosé and are perfect for parties, celebrations, weddings and entertaining friends. I think they are the most attractive big bottles of wine I have ever come across - and most importantly, the content is pretty damn good too! The handy half bottles are very fridge friendly and perfect for a few glasses.
The 2021 vintage is gorgeous and has been be rated the best vintage of this remarkable rosé, now a global super star and the benchmark against which all other rosés are judged. It sings of the sun and everything we are all looking forward to.
Matthew Jukes writes "In 2021 there is a wonderful backbone to this wine from which the fruit is carefully draped. With the trademark watermelon and pomegranate hints and a deeper and more structured mid-palate than was found on the lithe 2020 this is a more sophisticated wine than its crowd-pleasing predecessor. This, in turn, means that it is a foodier proposition, too, which is great news. So, my very first 2021 Provence Rosé is set to, once again, wow all-comers."

How does the wine taste?
Vibrant pale pink wild salmon colour. Very fresh with strong yet restrained aromatic flavours berries and white summer fruit. Good acidity and balance with a mouth watering finish that begs for another glass. It made a cold and gloomy Leicestershire January day seems like Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat in June for a couple of hours. Exciting.
