We are delighted to welcome back our favourite Saint-Véran from the Burgundian House of Pierre Janny – it was our best selling white Burgundy and it returns better than ever at a modest £14.95 which is remarkable value as Burgundy prices continue to spiral. The 2016 vintage is rich, creamy with excellent minerality. The vineyards are next to Pouilly-Fuissé which explains just how good this Saint-Véran is.

About

Located at the southern end of the Mâconnais vineyards, Maison Janny and their vineyards adjoin the slopes of Pouilly-Fuissé where the clay-limestone soils allow a very good expression of the Chardonnay grape. This Saint-Véran is harvested from the village of Prissé, and the vines are about 40 years old. Maison Janny has been established in Péronne (South Burgundy region) since 1984, working closely to get the best out of the local “terroir”, making Maison Janny’s savoir-faire and professionalism well-recognised in the local and national wine industry. Thanks to the care in the vineyards and the respect for traditions, and also due to the use of modern techniques of making quality wine, the team creates great harvests and vintages. Each wine on offer is produced and bottled at the Domaine in order to capture the dream and the complexity of each “terroir”.
