Château Saint-Jean, Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu 2019

"Finally, the 2019 Ch. Saint Jean, Plan de Dieu - the best Cotes du Rhone Villages on the market, reckons FVD's Esme Johnstone. When we offered the previous vintage in January it sold out immediately. Produced by Christian Meffre of Gigondas fame, its old vine fruit is rich, ripe, dark, spicy and juicy. It's ready - just - and will only get better."
Jonathan Ray, The Spectator Magazine
Château Saint Jean 'Plan de Dieu' is one of the very best Côtes du Rhône Villages - they also make one of the stars of Gigondas. This could easily be mistaken for a Châteauneuf-du-Pape but at half the price.

Dark and rich with damson and tobacco overtones. A rich wine, which ought to develop still more over the next few years. Great with garlic and rosemary roast lamb. (previous vintage)
Really lovely easy drinking Cotes du Rhone. I was very pleased with it. (previous vintage)
