Rioja Vega, a firm favourite among our customers, made a welcome return in the summer. One of the oldest Bodegas in Rioja Alta and one of the few Bodegas officially allowed to include Rioja in its name. We were last able to offer these wines at the end of 2018 and we are really pleased to have secured the new vintage.

This Crianza Limited Edition is Rioja Vegas showtime wine made in small quantities with a wonderful expression of rich, ripe tempranillo that will age beautifully. It over-delivers for a well made, soft and highly drinkable Rioja. Several cases are destined for my cellar. Esme

Hows does the wine taste?
An expressive red bursting with dark fruits. It has soft tannins, a fresh, clean acidity and delicious complexity from the 18 months ageing in oak barrels.

What do the critics say?
"A very fine modern Rioja. 90/100"

An oak-aged 75 per cent Tempranillo/25 per cent Graciano blend from one of Riojas oldest bodegas, its full of rich, ripe, succulent dark fruit flavours backed by warm toasted spice and vanilla on the finish. A worthy Decanter Gold Medal winner."

Very nice Rioja for the price. It's still a bit young, and needs to be drunk with food to 'bloom', but I'm very pleased with this wine. I gave some to a Spanish friend last week, who agreed that it's good.
