Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes, Jean-Marc Pillot 2014

Jean-Marc Pillot is one of our Burgundian favourites, such is the quality and consistency of his wines. Few wines got us more excited in 2014 than his exceptional Chassagne-Montrachets, aged for 12 months in barrel. What a wine. Absolutely gorgeous, it’s expressive, with opened aromatics. A complex array of cream, citrus and hints of minerality, this is a wine of power (unsurprisingly, given the age of the vines and the vineyard position overlooking Le Montrachet) and impressive length. Truly magnificent and a real treat.
