Fine 2017 Meursault Mixed Case
We have sourced some outstanding Meursault for you from the 2017 vintage, and put this together in a very special mixed case, just in time to purchase for Christmas.
Arguably the most famous commune in the Côte d’Or, home to many of the best producers in Burgundy, Meursault is a great source of fine white wines of great richness and balance.
As we approach the end of year festivities and, hopefully, some opportunities to enjoy some fine wine treats, we felt the timing was right to put together a lovely selection of three excellent examples that showcase this famous village. They are all from the 2017 vintage, which was excellent for white Burgundy, delivering wines of great zip and energy.
Maison Jaffelin’s contribution is a deliciously nutty, toasty number with creamy citrus fruit and a hint of rhubarb; the bottling from Bouchard Père et Fils bridges the gap between the rich Jaffelin style and the minerally, focused Boyer style with a wine of absolutely perfect balance, so seamlessly are all the elements (russet apples, butter, hint of winter spice) beautifully melded.
Finally, the jewel in the crown in my opinion is Vincent Boyer’s superb cuvée, named after his grandfather. A young and dynamic winemaker, with a flair for combining tradition and modernity, his are seriously impressive wines of outstanding poise, a spine of great acidity, brilliant minerality, length and ageing potential. Vincent is a star in the making!
This mixed case includes two bottles each of; 2017 Meursault 'Fernand Boyer', Boyer-Martenot, 2017 Meursault Vieilles Vignes, Domaine Jaffelin and 2017 Meursault, Domaine Bouchard.
We have 30 of these mixed cases available, all delivered in plenty of time for Christmas.
