Montagny 1er Cru, Les Loges, Vieilles Vignes 2016
A fine white Burgundy crafted by highly talented winemaker, Emma Sarjeant, at under £15. Classic style, with fresh flavours and body, this is exceptionally well-made and the price tag is great for what you get. Perfect for drinking now while young and also a great food wine, it covers all bases. The altitude of the vineyards ranges between 240 and 385 metres and are located in Montagny on an amphitheatre of hills. Good Montagny is always worth seeking out.
Tasting note: A fresh, lightly oaked white with the weight and complexity of a much more expensive wine. Expect plenty of citrus and floral notes, a clean minerality and long finish. Delicious, finely crafted white Burgundy, perfect with shellfish and poultry.
