A splendid affordable 2016 Rioja from the family-run vineyards at Bodegas Patrocinio in Rioja Alta, the home of the region’s finest wines. Made with passion by renowned wine maker Fernando Villamor and aged in barrel, the wine has bags of soft fruit flavours and is already drinking really well. It is one of the best Crianza wines we have tasted in a long time and at £10.95 it is well below its real value. Highly recommended for all of us Rioja lovers.

We are also delighted to have secured a small parcel of 2015 vintage magnums of this delicious wine, which we are pleased to offer free when you purchase two cases or more of the standard bottle.

This wine is available for immediate dispatch. Please note that your free magnum won't appear in the basket, however, it will be automatically added to the order in the warehouse.

Our Tasting Notes

A deep garnet hue with sumptuous berry fruit flavours with a hint of spice in the modern style of the best Riojas. Very well made.

Bodegas Patrocinio is a fine and principled collective of family estates based in the picturesque village of Uruñuela, in La Rioja Alta - the source or Rioja’s very finest vineyards.

Patrocinio, managed by the passionate and very Spanish Fernando Villamor, has been on the cutting edge of wine production in Rioja for some years, embracing traditional, barrel-aged Rioja, with its familiar flavours, as well as pioneering new trends, producing modern-style warm, expressive, fruit forward examples, with more contemporary tastes in mind.
