This vast, sun-drenched region stretching across the south of France from the Pyrennes to the southern Rhône and Provence produces some of the country's most powerful, full-bodied and wonderfully rustic red wines. With designations ranging from the generic Vin de Pays d'Oc to more specific geographical locations such as Corbières or Minervois, a typical Languedoc appellation will include grenache, syrah, mourvèdre, cinsault and carignan as required varietals.
However, it is the remarkable authenticity and quality of the cabernet sauvignon, merlot and pinot noir also being grown here that continues to inspire us. Such that we've chosen to highlight this other delicious side of the Languedoc for your drinking pleasure - one we think you'll also agree deserves far more attention.
