West Highland summers involve lots of picnics, shellfish bought from local fishermen, freshly caught mackerel grilled on beaches, and lots of good summer white wines and a few reds.

Vibrant, zingy acidity, ripe apple character and a fuller bodied slightly honeyed richness that makes it superbly food friendly.
Gavi di Gavi 'La Minaia' 2021
From Piemonte and one of Italy's eternal classics made with 100% Cortese, loved for its crisp, peachy, floral aromatics and sheer elegance in style.
RED:
Las Martas Garnacha, Bodega San Gregorio, Calatayud 2021
Made from low-yielding Grenache vines averaging over 70 years of age for a delicious example of how good modern Spanish winemaking gets.
Mas Carlot Rouge, Générations, Costières de Nîmes 2019
A delicious red Rhône and a long a favourite of the Guide Hachette des Vins, Hugh Johnson, Robert Parker and ours. Grenache, syrah and just a touch of mourvedre.
Fleurie, Château de Fleurie, Maison Loron 2021
It is rich and well balanced, with silky tannins and a persistent finish. Wonderfully approachable and very food-friendly, it goes perfectly with fish or meat.
