A gold award-winning Chianti Classico Riserva from the Bindi Sergardi family, whose wines were an absolute revelation to us. This Riserva was aged in oak barriques for 15 months before remaining stored in the cellar for refinement prior to its release to us for a further 15 months. The result is a wine of exceptional concentration and intensity that retains impressive elegance... beautifully-made wine. Ideally decant for an hour or so before drinking.

Decanter World Wine Awards Gold Medal in the 'Red Chianti Over £15' category

"This is a powerful red with lots of fruit concentration, new wood and fresh herbs such as rosemary. Full-bodied and rich. Needs time to come together but impressively dense and rich. Better in 2016." - 93/100. James Suckling

"A wonderful illustration of Chianti, this is floral and vibrant, abounding with crunchy, sour red cherries and fabulously integrated acidity which delivers great drive and energy. There's so much to like, with persistent length and sturdy but integrated tannins which promise well for the years to come." - Decanter Magazine

"I adore traditional Chianti when, like this, it is well done. One of its advantages is that it has a wide drinking window. You can decant it now for an hour or two and enjoy its direct invigorating cherry fruit, or wait 10 years and hope for truffle, leather and spice" - Hamish Anderson Telegraph 09/01/16

"A Riserva that spent 15 months ageing in oak barriques, followed by the same period in bottle, this is all Sangiovese and seems immediately polished and classy with its taut graphite and black fruit nose, touches of aromatic tobacco and yet all very focused. In the mouth there's an almost surprising weight and density of fruit - so full and rich after the lean suggestion of the nose, expansive in fruit and tannins, a cherry pit dryiness to the acidity and then that wisp of smoke and tobacco curls into the finish which is long, the mineral and graphite polish asserting. What a terrific Chianti for drinking now, or cellaring." - Tom Cannavan, wine-pages.com
