Buy the stellar 2016 vintage from Château Fourcas-Borie (Listrac) and savour the bottled virtuosity of Bruno Borie - he who also crafts cuvées at world-renowned Château Ducru-Beaucaillou (Saint-Julien, 2ème Cru Classé). A man undoubtedly among the Left Bank's highest rated and scoring winemakers.

The connection to supreme quality and prestige is obvious; now here's your chance to taste the pedigree.

Your opportunity to experience the full terroir capacity of a lesser-known appellation when realised by Saint-Julien genius. This means generous, traditionally styled Listrac expression in an enticing cabernet/merlot/petit verdot blend, with all the detail, finesse and flavour dimension you'd expect from such expertise. Qualities all the finer for the seven years of maturation behind them, and ones with a fair few years ahead.

The 2016 Fourcas-Borie has a more floral bouquet than its stablemate Ducluzeau, presenting a mixture of red and black fruit tinged with peony and incense. The palate is underpinned by fine tannin and a beautiful bead of acidity. This feels linear and quite grippy in the mouth, and the graphite-tinged finish lingers nicely. Superb.
Antonio Galloni,

The 2016 Chateau Fourcas-Borie is a blend of 68% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Petit Verdot, matured for 12 months in 20% new oak and the remainder one year old. I found more precision and intensity on the Fourcas-Borie compared to Bruno's other Listrac, Ducluzeau, quite floral with cassis and blueberry aromas developing in the glass. The palate is sweet on the entry with noticeable new oak at the moment, though that prudent 20% is totally in sync with the fruit. This is very sleek, silky to the touch with a slight graininess developing on the finish.

How does the wine taste? Customer Reviews (0)
From the skilled hands at Saint-Julien?s ?super second? Château Ducru-Beaucaillou comes this jewel of Listrac. A generous, traditionally styled claret with dark cassis fruit, classic aromas of cedar and subtle smoky oak. Freshness, poise, soft supple tannins and a rich, intense finish. True class with a formidable winemaking pedigree.
