2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, Heresztyn-Mazzini
Here, a terrific depth of flavour and richness in fruit clearly reflects sourcing from 65-year-old vines. The nose is opened, expressive, with Gevrey’s classic hints of liquorice, sumptuous black fruit and tremendous length on the finish.
2019 Beaune 'Les Mariages', Domaine Rossignol-Trapet
An attractive, moreish core of juicy, crunchy red fruit and fresh leafy notes combine with a very fine tannic structure that is delicately raspy and eminently approachable. A pretty, easy-going red burgundy for now and for the coming years. Great with duck.
