"The 2020 Saint-Estèphe is perfect Sunday lunch fare. With enticing juicy fruit on the nose backed by typical Saint-Estèphe earthiness, it's a touch austere at first sip but the fruit soon elbows its way to the front, and by the second sip or gulp is there in spades."
Jonathan Ray, The Spectator Magazine
The latest addition to our range of declassified wines is the Saint-Estèphe 2020 from one of the "super seconds" (the top second growths that would probably be promoted should the 1855 classification be revised). Here is a high-class claret showing the best of the cabernet in the blend with a lovely mineral backbone - a claret ready to drink now and one with at least 15 years ahead of it.
This is a great opportunity to taste and drink wines made by some of the greatest estates in Bordeaux (all of which are either first growths or super seconds) at a fraction of the cost of their grand vin labels. A friend described the Saint-Estèphe 2020 as "class in a glass", which was spot on!
