The village of Montagny is located in the south of the Côte Chalonnaise, named after the town of Chalon-sur-Saône. Along with its other counterparts in the Chalonnaise, Givry, Rully and Mercurey, it gives its more illustrious neighbours in the Côte DOr a real run for their money. Montagny only produces whites, all from chardonnay grown on limestone soils and it is these soils that give zippy freshness, then further enhanced through stainless steel fermentation to really lock in the purity of fruit.
