'Princesse Lieven' Beaujolais Blanc, Château de Bellevue 2021
There's a very pale golden shimmer in the glass releasing seductive notes of pear, peach and citrus with an almost honied character.
The palate is a perfect balance of ripe fruit and freshening palate cleansing zest. Pear, pineapple and notes of peach are the first to emerge followed by an almost creamy character with pastry notes which are framed by a freshening citrus zip and a hint of mineral salinity.
There's a good length to the finish with those creamy pear and pastry notes hanging on the palate beckoning you back for another taste, which is hard to resist.
The cooler 2021 vintage has worked perfectly here, that fresh zip, that can be lost in chardonnay in the warmth of southern France, is present and wonderfully balanced with the medley of ripe orchard fruit and citrus.
A wonderful wine to serve at your next gathering.
