Château Laroze, Grand Cru St-Émilion 2012
An elegant, sumptuous blend of merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon from this revered, classified, 27-hectare Grand Cru-classified estate in St-Emilion. The 2012 vintage here was well recieved, yielding finely textured, expressive medium to full-bodied reds with good length.
"It has a very composed bouquet, the new oak here deftly integrated, pure black and red fruit, a subtle undergrowth scent that becomes more accentuated with time. The palate is well balanced, quite classic in style. There is plenty of fruit here, more than it demonstrated out of barrel, but it is controlled, quite spicy, and gently fans out towards the very satisfying finish. This appears to have blossomed in bottle." Drink 2018-2030, 88 pts. Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate
